Hi, I'm Dr. Nancy Tuten.

Since 1991, I have been offering writing skills seminars to professionals in a wide range of fields, including judges, judicial staff members, attorneys, court recorders and reporters, bankers, federal and state employees, and employees in the office of a head of state.

The most popular courses are those addressing commonly asked questions about punctuation, mechanics, grammar, and usage.

My goal is to demystify these topics and provide writers with straightforward, accessible information that empowers them to write and edit their writing with greater confidence.

What Others Are Saying

- Fred Lancaster, National Account Manager, United Parcel Service

"Nancy makes what could be a dry subject very interesting. She works to make the content relevant. The course was excellent."
Samantha Williams, Director of Training and Development, SC Department of Public Safety

"My entire office should enroll in this workshop. I wish I had taken it sooner. In the past, some of this information was difficult for me to understand, but not today."
Bonnie Ziegler, Personnel Services, SC Budget and Control Board Internal Operations

FAQ

  • Who should take these courses?

Anyone who wants to produce more polished and professional writing will benefit from these courses. Our students include judges, attorneys, bankers, federal and state employees, and court reporters/recorders.

  • What if I know absolutely no grammar at all?

The instruction assumes students know very little grammar, and each lesson includes definitions of terms and explanations to simplify complex topics.

  • Do the courses have specific start dates, or can I enroll at any time?

You may enroll at any time and work at your own pace.

  • How much time does it take to work through a course, and for how long do I have access to it?

Each learner's pace differs, but on average a course requires about 10 hours of work. The lessons are bite sized, so you can easily fit them into your schedule. You will have access to a course for 90 days, but if you need longer, just let me know before the course expires.

  • May I contact the instructor and interact with fellow learners?

Yes! You are welcomed to email Nancy anytime with your questions. She typically responds within hours and certainly within a day. You also have exclusive access to our Facebook community for learners and newsletter subscribers. Log in to Facebook and search for the Get It Write Online Group.

  • Do you offer discounts on your courses?

Yes! I offer discount codes regularly to my email subscribers (go to the website and click on the word subscribe in the footer), and I offer deep group discounts to businesses purchasing courses for their employees.

  • What if I start the course and don't like it?

You are eligible for a full refund for the first 14 days of a course or until you have completed two lessons, whichever comes first.
